Geoff Mallam and his wife Sandi are testimony that it is never too late to realise your dreams.
Sandi previously worked in a hospital but after suffering from a severe head tumour, she realised life is too short to pass by opportunities, and she jumped at the chance to open her own jewellery shop with the help of Success Doncaster.
Meanwhile, husband, Geoff, was feeling frustrated in his call centre job and was inspired by Sandi’s decision to set up her own business. He decided to join forces with his wife and turn his Reiki hobby into a full time career.
Success Doncaster referred the couple to an advisor who assisted them with business start up advice to get Wheel of Life off the ground, and helped them look at the different finance options available. Geoff and Sandi also benefited from a business buddy and are keen to work with a mentor now the business is up and running.
Wheel of Life sells unique jewellery and crystals whilst also offering Reiki treatments and teaching sessions – Reiki is a Japanese technique for healing and relaxation. Geoff is also an accomplished artist and he uses the shop as an outlet to sell his paintings.
Both in their fifties, Geoff and Sandi could have resigned themselves to everyday working life, but both had the drive and ambition to turn their lives around and begin their own business. They credit the Success Doncaster programme for giving them the confidence to do so.
