Craig Gwamba has studied IT throughout his school and University career, this naturally led to a career in computers until 2008 when he was made redundant from his post.
Not wanting to move away from the industry he clearly has a passion for and unable to find other suitable positions, Craig decided that self employment was the way forward and decided to start his own business, Teknicom Computer Services.
Teknicom offers computer repairs, upgrades, installations and custom build computers. Craig can offer the complete package for all customers from sourcing the best deals right through to installation.
Finance was in issue for Craig when he first wanted to start Teknicom, he approached Success Doncaster for support and was referred to the Finance Friends initiative. His Finance Friend advised him on what support is available and what he was entitled to before helping him apply for funding through Success Doncaster and The Princes Trust.
Thanks to the support he has received from the programme, Craig has successfully got Teknicom off the ground and is trading in Wheatley. He has started to specialise in helping ‘silver surfers’ get up and running with computers and providing them with everything they need from equipment and furniture to training in how use their computers.
