Sensory UK

Sensory UK

Having a son who is disabled gave Doncaster entrepreneur Karen Coyle the inspiration she needed to develop sensory equipment and the design of sensory rooms used by schools, hospitals, government buildings, nursing homes and the private sector. The company aims to create a stimulating and calming environment that enhances the user’s senses of sight, smell, touch and sound.

Having recently moved into offices in Doncaster, Sensory UK has become an international company after securing work in the Middle East and has made links with another beneficiary of the Success Doncaster programme, Kidz R Us, a local child minder who works with children with autism.

Karen was put in touch with Business Buddy Jean Stewart through the Success Doncaster programme. Jean has assisted her with the marketing of the programme and linked the business with other local organisations including Doncaster 100, CIDA, Business Link and Reed in Partnership to enable her to widen the network of support she is able to access.

As well as providing equipment to be used in sensory rooms, Karen is also looking into supplying the equipment to large business to be used in their reception areas to add impact to the spaces they provide. The company has now also branched out into outside office spaces and independent modular areas while continually making a difference and bringing quality to life.
