Total Care Installations, a company based in Wheatley, Doncaster began trading around 6 months ago and since then have gone from strength to strength, thanks to the advice and support from Success Doncaster.
The business offers an all round home improvement service covering all aspects of diy and home improvements. Owner Andy Robinson says the business prides itself on an old fashioned ethos of providing good quality service at an affordable price.
The services that Total Care Installations provide include plumbing, joinery, tiling, plastering, painting & decorating, kitchen and bathroom installations, Upvc window and door installations, small building alterations, landlords deep cleaning services and fire alarm design and installation.
Coming to Success Doncaster for business assistance, Andy has received help from a number of different sources within the programme. Firstly, he received specialist business advice on starting up a business along with a useful financial grant to help him get his business off the ground. He then went on to receive help in writing a business plan allowing him to forecast his financial capabilities for the future securing a Success Doncaster loan fund and receiving financial management advice from our financial inclusion team.
Andy has also benefitted from some one-to-one business mentoring from the Doncaster 100 strand of the programme. This was to help him conquer his fear of public speaking.
Andy said: “I have always lacked confidence in public speaking, my business mentor, Dean Hutchinson operates a company called Heads For Business, who specialise in coaching individuals in confidence building and applying techniques for self improvement.
“For a long time now I would worry about speaking to groups of people days before the event and when it came to actually presenting and talking I would be very nervous, tense and my speech would be very shaky resulting in me talking very fast.
“During my first meeting with Dean he demonstrated different techniques of how to deal with fears and anxieties whilst speaking in public.”
After a number of mentoring sessions of learning how to overcome this anxiety, Dean has conquered his fear and looks forward to being able to present confidently and professionally in front of an audience.
