Following redundancy, Louise Oxtaby wanted a new challenge so she decided to have a go at being her own boss. She researched the options available to her for self employment and came up with a fantastic business idea.
Louise spotted a niche in the market offering a service to clean domestic ovens in customer’s homes. Following advice from the Success Doncaster start up programme her business idea started to grow and before she knew it, Louise was working for herself and trading as Tip Top Oven Cleaning.
Tip Top can make your oven like new again in 1 – 2 hours. The service is also available for cleaning hobs, extractors, microwaves and barbecue racks, to name but a few, leaving the customer with one less dirty job and cleaner kitchen appliances. Everything is cleaned using specialist tools and cleaning products, and because no chemicals are used there are no nasty fumes and your oven can be used as soon as the job is finished. Most customers don't want to though, because they like to keep looking at how fantastic it looks!
The service Louise offers is a complete deep clean that will remove all traces of grease and burnt on carbon using non-caustic and non-toxic cleaners leaving no mess! Oven bulbs and extractor filters are also replaced.
After contacting Success Doncaster for assistance, Louise was referred to an enterprise coach who helped her through her business planning and provided some advice on marketing her business. Louise also qualified for a small amount of financial assistance by way of an enterprise grant. Louise then went on to attend a business start up course to learn about the aspects of running a business.
