Supply Chain Training Ltd is a social enterprise whose primary social aim is to reduce the Carbon Footprint within the Yorkshire and Humber region. Presently 20% of the UK’s carbon footprint is produced by this region.
Supply Chain, owned by Glenn Smickergill, has developed a range of awareness courses and accredited training programs which will enable people to be aware of their own carbon footprint and what measures they can take to reduce current emissions by up to 50%. These reductions are in line with government white paper target for 2010 -2050.
Success Doncaster’s Social Enterprise Development team have successfully supported Glen in securing funds through the innovation voucher scheme to develop, in association with Hull University, a special three day course.
This course covers carbon footprint, driver profiling and the corporate manslaughter act, which has recently changed. It is targeted at businesses and incorporates the facility for attendees to take the technology offered within the course back to their company. This will enable them to work out their footprint and assess the driving quality of their workforce with a view to retraining.
The course is also designed for keeping business aware of their responsibility to their employees and the effect their company is having on the UK’s carbon footprint.
It will also teach how we can reduce the levels in our region and reduce the mortality rate in road accidents.
