SB Construction
Scott Brown had been unemployed for seven months and was fed up of having to claim benefits, something that he thought was degrading his self and decided to do something about it and push himself to start his own business, SB Construction, a construction company specialising in brick laying and pattern concrete throughout Doncaster.
Having had no experience in business and not knowing how to start up on his own, Scott approached Success Doncaster for support and was referred to an Enterprise Coach for assistance and knowledge on what was needed to get his business off the ground.
Scott and his enterprise coach worked together on a business plan and he was also successful in applying for an enterprise grant to help towards the cost of marketing his business. Scott was fortunate to get a loan from family to pay for a van for his business.
After being unemployed for a period of time, Scott was struggling with his personal finances and so his Enterprise Coach referred him on to the Success Doncaster Financial Inclusion programme where an advisor was on hand to help him with this.
Scott has now started SB Construction and thanks to the support he has had from his advisor and the money towards marketing his work, he has now been successful in securing jobs. He is now looking to develop the business further and now feel more motivated to succeed after getting through his previous knock backs.
