Robinsons Cakes
Being left partially disabled by an accident did not deter Doncaster woman Sue Robinson from turning her hobby of making cakes into a successful business.
Robinson’s Cakes offers a bespoke service to customers, designing, making and baking speciality cakes for any occasion including weddings, christenings, anniversaries and birthdays. On top of this, she also offers a delivery service to ensure all her cakes reach the customer to the high standards she expects. Her kitchen was recently awarded four out of five stars from the local authority which is another great achievement for Sue.
Success Doncaster came to Sue’s assistance through the Doncaster Chamber contract. She attended a Business Start Up course as well as a number of networking events held. Her own personal Business Advisor also helped Sue with marketing advice and answered questions for her along the way on her business venture.
Sue has also received help to adapt her car so she was able to drive again and gain back her independence; this has been a real confidence boost for her and has helped her to overcome all barriers to enable her to reach her goal of setting up her business. Her business advisor has said she is a true inspiration and her work is an excellent example of what can be achieved with the right amount of skill and hard work.
