Rachel Kerridge
Rachel Kerridge had been unemployed for two years, prior to this she had a varied employment background working in a number of different roles for a relatively short amount of time.
Rachel came to Success Doncaster for assistance in September 2009. She was put in touch with the Jobmates programme. She was assigned to a Jobmate who helped her with CV writing, a sourcing and funding training course, accessing volunteering, job searches, improving interview techniques, completing job application forms, and was referred for Financial Inclusion advice.
After initially being placed with Doncaster Refurnish as a volunteer, Rachel has taken a slight change in career into working as an admin assistant for the company. Due to the length of time unemployed and lack of qualifications, this goal seemed a long way off but is one she has worked hard towards and achieved.
She is now working towards an NVQ level 2 in customer care and NVQ level 2 in developing Personal Confidence as well as completing the European Computer Driving License level 2. These qualifications have made the future look brighter for Rachel as she now plans to take an accountancy course next year, with the long term dream to become an accountant.
