Mr R D Property Maintenance was started by Mukesh Miyangar to offer all kinds of property maintenance, plumbing, painting and decorating.
Business has been slow but steady for him but after help from the North Doncaster Development Trust and Doncaster Chamber, Mukesh has studied book-keeping, accounts and VAT to provide him with the essential background skills he requires to run a successful business.
What makes Mr R D Property Maintenance so special is that there is no call out fee when customers require a service. This means that Mukesh can constantly offer a good reliable service with competitive prices.
To publicise his skills to a wider market, Mukesh was advised to take out an advert with the Thompson Local directory and print out flyers and business cards which he has delivered to local houses personally during his free time.
He has also attended networking events including one at the Keepmoat Stadium and it is these that he feels have really helped broaden his knowledge and contacts.
To widen his horizons, Mukesh has taken on work further a field including taking on renovation work on properties in Leeds as well as his work in the local Doncaster area.
As if all this is not enough to keep him going, he volunteers for 15 hours a week for Doncaster nature reserve BTCV where he sells merchandise as a way of giving something back to his community.
In the future Mukesh plans to undertake further training, including becoming Corgi registered, so he can develop himself and offer his customers more services.
