As a promising young footballer playing for Manchester United’s reserve team, Abdallah Suliman’s dreams were broken when an unexpected injury whilst playing to support the homeless World Cup in Denmark in 2007 prevented him from playing again.
This career halting moment spurred Abdallah on to turn to his second passion in life - cooking good, healthy, delicious food going on to launch his exotic food business ‘Lime Star Catering’ here in Doncaster.
A trained chef, Abdallah has diplomas obtained from Doncaster College in Catering, Health and Safety and Food Hygiene.
Lime Star Catering serves customised food that is delicious, unique and fresh - all made from scratch with healthy ingredients and without additives, colours or preservatives.
With an ethos of combining good food and value for money, the company caters for all types of events including corporate lunches, weddings, dinner and birthday parties, barbecues, formal dinners and buffets. The service is also provided on a mobile basis.
With his decision to start his own enterprise, Abdallah approached Success Doncaster for help and advice on starting his business. Furthermore, he qualified and received a grant from Princes’ Trust which was used to purchase kitchen equipment and other start-up costs.
Abdallah said: “Setting up a business and working for yourself is scary, but it is all about doing things at the right time, in the right place and meeting the right people to help you”
The latest offering by Lime Star Catering is the Free Friday lunch offer, where customers can get Friday’s lunch free if they order their lunch from Monday to Thursday. The offer also includes free delivery to the customer so busy workers don’t have to leave their premises to grab a healthy bite.
