Kay Cunningham

Kay Cunningham described herself as “a total wreck” when she first came to the Jobmates programme in February. The economic decline had taken its toll on her entrepreneurial skills and she had been left redundant. This sudden loss of work had left her feeling depressed and low in confidence.

Coming to Success Doncaster for help, Kay was put in contact with her own personal Jobmate to help her deal with her issues. Initially she received help with confidence boosting and assistance in finding accessing counselling services to help her gain the courage she needed to feel confident enough to get back into the job market.

When she felt ready, Kay’s Jobmate helped her with the useful guidance she needed to be able to sell herself to potential employers. She received help with updating her CV, filling in paper and online applications as well gaining guidance on interview techniques.

Because of the help she received through the programme, Kay has been successful in finding employment as a receptionist at a school. Although the job she has found is only temporary, it has given her the boost she needs to feel confident in herself again. She now feels optimistic about her future and has a positive approach in moving her life forward.
