Living a healthier lifestyle always seems to be the main aim for most people when making New Year resolutions, with losing weight and joining a gym being amongst the top favourites. So, if you have you made a resolution to get fitter, now is your chance.
The New Year provides a great time to start a new health routine and ladies in Doncaster can now work out at the newest all female gym, Fenton’s for Ladies based within Loversall Hall, Loversall.
Friends and colleagues Lisa Palmer and Jean Taylor were both previously employed in a local ladies only gym until it closed leaving them unemployed and looking for work.
Lisa and Jean got their heads together and started to look into ways in which they could turn a similar type of gym into a successful business. They started to look for suitable premises when they came across Loversall Hall and instantly decided this was the ideal location to open their gym
Having found premises, Lisa and Jean approached Success Doncaster for business support. An initial meeting was set up with an Enterprise Coach who helped them with their pre-start business concerns and assisted them in applying for a small start-up grant. A place was offered to attend a specialist workshop for new business starts and further advice was provided which covered aspects of running a business such as business planning, marketing and financial accounts.
Following a tremendous amount of hard work, waiting five months for planning permission to be granted and with the ongoing support from Success Doncaster, Lisa and Jean were finally able to launch their new gym in November last year.
Many women don’t enjoy going to normal gyms because they feel intimidated and self-conscious and the last thing they want to do is exercise in front of men! Fenton’s for Ladies has just the answer, offering the very latest in fitness equipment and as well as the usual cardio vascular room, they also have a mini sauna, jacuzzi and a swimming pool, all of which is offered in luxurious surroundings.
