Graphic design specialist and advocate for environmentally friendly products, George Oleksy, had been searching for suitable employment for some time. He was becoming very disillusioned in his search for work so decided to start up his own business that would incorporate both his passions: design and protecting the environment.
EnviroADS is a graphic design business offering environmentally friendly ‘clean advertising’. Using a combination of high-pressure steam and precision laser cut stencils, designs, logos and adverts are ‘blasted’ onto any pavement or wall and as nothing but water and steam is used, the process is all ‘environmentally friendly’ and legal!
New to self employment, George aged 51, approached Success Doncaster with his new business idea. He was immediately referred to one of the programme’s Enterprise Coaches. Providing tailored specialist start-up advice, George was offered support in the marketing and business planning in setting up EnviroADS and also received advice about the financial support available to help towards business start up costs.
George commented, “The help I have received from Success Doncaster has been instrumental in helping me to start in business. My Enterprise Coach has been very supportive and encouraged me every step of the way, from my initial business idea through to the actual realisation of starting my business.”
EnviroADS began trading in February 2010 and since then the business has received a significant amount of interest with more and more organisations being encouraged to ‘go green’ with their advertising. George was also an exhibitor at the recent DN Business Showcase event which helped to propel his business even further into the public eye.
He commented, “I was really excited about exhibiting at the DN Business Showcase and it certainly exceeded all my expectations. I met a number of like minded business people which created leads that I hope will generate into business in the future. Everyone I spoke to seemed impressed with the idea of using a combination of precision laser cut stencils and high-pressure steam to create messages, logos and adverts onto dirty pavements and walls.”
As his business continues to develop, George finds comfort in the knowledge that he is able to access further and ongoing business support from the Success Doncaster programme. Although the focus is primarily around environmentally friendly advertising, EnviroADS offer a full range of services, ranging from small projects to major international work, and everything in between. Web design, sales and promotional materials, designs for exhibitions stands and displays, to name a few.
