Dress to Undress
Staci O’Conner designs and produces her unique style of clothing and uses them for bands in music videos and photo shoots through her business Dress to Undress.
Working from her parents’ garage, she takes old unwanted clothes and uses the materials to make her specialist garments. She also acts as a booking agent by arranging and booking the photo shoots together with providing the clothing.
Dress to Undress is another example of a business that has come to Success Doncaster for help and benefited from guidance through several channels. Staci has received help from Princes Trust, Doncaster Chamber, North Doncaster Development Trust and Doncaster 100.
The help she has received has ranged from business planning and start up finance to marketing and one to one business mentoring.
Staci has recently worked with a local Sheffield band on a shoot for her first collection. This has helped her create a look book for managers of bands and agencies to see what she can do, and how she can help unsigned bands. She plans on developing this look book to include a wide range of bands she helps for clothing on stage, photo shoots and music videos. This will give her more potential when selling her work to new clients.
Within her plans for the future, Staci wants to expand Dress to Undress by employing a full-time seamstress which would mean more productivity, and by finding suitable premises for the business.
