Being made redundant from his previous job did not deter 27 year old Thorne man, Andrew Baldry from doing a job he clearly enjoyed. Instead he decided to work for himself and opened up his own vehicle body shop to offer his customers the best services locally.
Colourworks Body Shop is a vehicle repair workshop based in Thorne specialising in accident repairs, insurance work, repaints, scuffs, dents, wheel restorations and more for anybody in the Doncaster area and beyond. His aim is to offer his customers the best services locally at an affordable price.
The Success Doncaster programme helped Andrew start his business by providing access to a Business Start Up course and then referring him to an advisor specialising in business finance. Throughout his first year of trading he has taken advantage of the ongoing support from the programme.
As well as delivering a high quality service to private customers from Doncaster and further afield, Andrew is also keen to develop further his local contracts with other businesses. He currently works on contracts for a number of local forecourts and garages in Doncaster.
Andrew admits there has been ups and downs from the start but overall is extremely pleased with the progress his business is making.
Andrew is starting to see the rewards of owning his own business and for the first time has started to take home a wage while continually putting money into Colourworks. In addition to this, he has also employed an apprentice to help with the demands of his growing work load.
