Gaynor Darby had to give up work due to an injury, but rather than letting this prevent from working for a living, she turned to her daughter Jean and together they set up Brides at Home.
Brides at Home offers a consultation service on everything related to weddings. Their unique selling point is that they visit their clients at home to ensure that they can cater for even the busiest of people.
Brides at Home can signpost clients to other wedding suppliers and can order bespoke dresses to meet the exact needs of any bride. Dresses can be copied from magazines and can be made to any shape or size.
Coming to Success Doncaster for assistance. Gaynor and Jean were put in touch with an Enterprise Coach as they were a pre-start business. Their Coach helped them with business planning, marketing advice, finding their unique selling point and helped them to access the Enterprise Chest to overcome some financial barriers.
From what was an initial ‘pipe dream’ of Gaynors, Brides at home has now turned in to a fully functioning business and has reached her goal of finding work after being forced out due to her initial injury.
