Bellissimo
The idea behind Bellisimo was drawn up after sister-in-laws Sandra Bell and Nicky Peacock struggled to find suitable hats when attending a day at the races.
As Sandra explained: “In past years we have enjoyed getting dressed-up for many lovely events, but after having a real problem last year trying to find hats to hire for the races, we realised there was a shortage of local suppliers. We ended up buying expensive hats that we will never wear again, and had the added problem of where to store them afterwards.
“For the races we also purchased two beautiful umbrellas, we were astounded by the attention they brought us. Everyone loved them their comments were amazing, as well as completing our outfits they held off the rain that inevitably came.
“It suddenly dawned on us that there was a niche in the market for just such things. As the umbrellas were such expensive items we decided we would hire them out on a daily basis along with beautiful hats and fascinators, and as a result Bellissimo was born!”
Bellissimo specialises in exquisite ladies accessories for any special occasion. The items they have for hire on a day by day lease include fascinators, hats, handbags and umbrellas.
Sandra and Nicky came to Success Doncaster for help and were put in touch with a Senior Business Advisor at Doncaster Chamber who assisted the pair with advice and guidance on business start-up before referring them to the Doncaster 100 strand of the programme for one to one business mentoring from an experienced Doncaster business person.
The business women have further ideas for Bellissimo and want to expand them into a reality. In addition to the accessories they already offer to their customers, they plan on adding further ranges.
Sandra continued: “We have daughters and nieces who like to dress-up for proms, weddings and race meetings, so we decided we would try to achieve the full package, consisting of a hat/ fascinator, fine jewellery, wraps, corsage, handbag and umbrella - all of which we now have in stock, soon we are hoping to add a beautiful clothing range to our collection.”
