Based in Barnby Dun, B-Jewelled was started by Sue England who, after suffering a stroke 5 years ago, found herself too ill to work. The company sells unique, high quality pieces of costume jewellery at an affordable price
In order to aid her own recovery, Sue began researching pieces of jewellery on the Internet, a task which she found quite daunting given the after effects of her stoke. She had to completely retrain her fingers and her brain to allow her to carry out this research.
Eventually after a long period of time, her health started to improve and once again experienced the benefits of using the Internet. With her health and confidence returning, Sue began to buy pieces of costume jewellery with her ultimate vision of one day being healthy enough to run her own jewellery business.
After a lot of hard work, by the beginning of 2010, Sue achieved her dreams and started trading that January.
B-Jewelled offers jewellery pieces for everyday wear, special occasions, race meetings, cruises, or indeed any event where you might want to get noticed!
On approaching Success Doncaster for support with her new business venture, she was referred to a Business Start-Up advisor for general assistance on starting a business.
Sue has also worked with a Business Buddy to access help with business visioning, HR related topics, administration work and general business support.
In the months since her business started Sue saw her business grow at a rate she could have never dreamed of. Sue now has three self-employed independent sales consultants working for her and she hopes to soon be designing her own range of jewellery.
Sue said: “Everyone should follow their dreams, whatever they may be. Large or small, every step is an achievement and overcoming challenges along the way makes success all the more richer.”
Sue is always looking at further ways to develop the business and will continue to do so into the future. She can visit you at your place of work and can also host jewellery parties for large groups of people to showcase her collection.
