Bright idea
After Doncaster’s only wool shop closed down, mother of two and knitting enthusiast Sabrina Whitmore, found herself travelling as far as Pontefract to get supplies. When she realised that other local residents must be experiencing the same problem, Sabrina had the bright idea of becoming a stockist of knitting materials herself.
A flying start
Having already built up a loyal customer base through door-to-door sales, Sabrina is now selling her wares on her new website, www.sabrinasknittingsupplies.co.uk. She also has aspirations of setting up her own shop in the town centre and starting a knitting course for local children.
With her new venture taking off, Sabrina’s advice to anyone wanting to grow their business is, “If you have a good idea, make sure that you do something about it. If I had known about the fantastic support that was available, I would have done this a long time ago.”
Support available through Success Doncaster
Success Doncaster has been able to offer Sabrina a wide range of practical support. Ongoing mentoring will provide Sabrina with advice to keep her business on track. Sabrina’s personal advisor is also offering marketing planning and guidance that may help to increase sales.
