Creative Strides - Improving Access To Enterprise

Improving Access To Enterprise

Creativity and the development of creative industries are a significant part of the Success Doncaster programme.

Everybody has the potential to be enterprising. 'Creative Strides – Improving Access to Enterprise' uses visual arts and drama to unlock that potential.

If you are 18+ and motivated to do something about your current situation. If you would like to move forward, go back into employment, further training or self-employment, then Creative Strides is the right start for you. You will be in a group with people which have similar goals and needs. The block of sessions will be flexibly designed around your particular needs; these could be personal needs (e.g. building self-confidence), group needs (e.g. team-building skills) or work specific needs (e.g. project management). The sessions are designed to steer your thoughts about the future and to make you aware of skills and knowledge you already have. In the course of the block you will design a personalised Action Plan which will enable you to look beyond the current situation and identify goals and aspirations for the future.

Creative activities give everyone a responsible role in a meaningful project and engage body and mind as well as imagination, and there is no right or wrong. These activities involve different learning styles and so enable people with all types of background to participate. You will learn new creative skills, which have a strong transfer value into other kinds of work. The creative activities will broaden your horizon and increase self-esteem and self-awareness in an enjoyable way.

To ensure long term support this programme will be delivered by working in close partnership with local organisations, services and other elements of Success Doncaster, including Community Based Enterprise Advisors who will be working in target communities.

Creative Strides is being delivered through DARTS (Doncaster Community Arts). We work throughout the Doncaster Metropolitan Borough with people of all ages and from all backgrounds.
