The Original Lash & Nail Bar launched its new premises in the Frenchgate Centre on Friday 12 February.

The salon, formally known as Locks and Lashes, situated in the North Mall Gallery next to Carphone Warehouse, was officially opened by business owner Rebecca Taylor and Success Doncaster Programme Manager Julie Wilson.

The opening of the salon also meant that Rebecca at just 24 years old has become the youngest person in the country to open a retail unit in a shopping centre.

The Original Lash & Nail Bar provides a wide range of treatments but specialises in nail and eyelash extensions. Other services include sunbeds, hair extensions and traditional beauty treatments.

Rebecca is a great example of how the Success Doncaster programme provides a wide range of support to individuals and businesses alike.

Rebecca started self employment in December 2008 and has progressed rapidly from home working to renting a room at The Fountain spa before finally making the move in opening her own salon in the Frenchgate Centre.

She has accessed many of the services on offer including business start-up advice, business mentoring support, financial advice, obtaining a loan from the Success Doncaster loan fund and finally receiving advice and assistance from our dedicated HR and employment advisors.
 
She said: “Without Success Doncaster I would not be where I am today. It has taken a lot of hard work to move my business so far in such a short period of time but it has been completely worth it.”

Upon opening the salon, Julie Wilson said: “Rebecca is a true inspiration to all and a fantastic role model to young people. She has shown through such hard work exactly what can be achieved when you put your mind to it.”
