Aspiration Doncaster is a new skills and work programme operating in Doncaster to support residents in developing their job prospects, employment skills and entrepreneurial potential.
It is a Success Doncaster funded initiative offering businesses and individuals the full spectrum of employment and training opportunities. There are a number of initiatives available through the programme including supported employment, on the job training and placements. Each initiative is designed to provide residents with an individual one to one service to help achieve their goals.
Apprenticeships are available within Doncaster Council as part of the programme as well as within private businesses. All successful employees can gain an NVQ Level 2 as part of their apprenticeship.
Individual support is also available through employment and training opportunities. Successful applicants for this strand will be placed in full time employment and sign up to undertake an appropriate qualification at a minimum NVQ level 2.
Ongoing support will be provided to assist individuals into employment including regular reviews and training assessments. Clients will also have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge further to NVQ level 3.
Employers can also take advantage of what is on offer from Aspiration Doncaster. Employee wages can be subsidised through this part of the programme to encourage new vacancies and new training opportunities.
The support on offer does not stop there, Aspiration Doncaster also offers individuals the chance to access funding to assist them in further training and skills. Funding could be used towards higher level qualifications, certificates, travel, books, tools or specialist clothing, anything that is needed.
