The latest Opportunity Centre has opened its doors to the public right in the centre of town in the Corn Exchange, Doncaster Market. The Centre which opened on Tuesday 27th April aims to provide a “hub” for residents to gain help and advice on any aspect in helping to improve their employment position.

Neighbourhood Opportunity Centres are an exciting new initiative supported by the Success Doncaster programme. They will play a key role in supporting residents in their search for work, improving their skills through training and education, helping to break down any barriers that are stopping people from progressing and essentially to ensure residents can make the most of the information available throughout the borough. This allows many of the key delivery partners and service providers operating in Doncaster to come together under one roof, serving as a one stop shop to anyone needing advice and support on issues such as benefit allowances, debt counselling and help in finding suitable employment.

Whether you are thinking of starting a new job, changing career or are interested in the training opportunities available, the Opportunity Centres are on hand to assist. The friendly reception staff will be fully trained and able to signpost you to the services available and relevant to your needs. Appointments can be made with the suitable agencies to help you along the way to a better and brighter future.

Director of Neighbourhoods and Communities, Jane Miller said, “This new facility has been set up specifically to support local people into employment and to provide a wide range of related assistance and support in respect of people’s working lives. The service has been designed for local people and I would very much like to encourage Doncaster residents who might need support and advice in connection with employment to make contact with the centre”
