This Strategy sets out how Doncaster will rise to the challenge by developing a dynamic borough based on innovative and knowledge focused businesses that can compete successfully in a global economy.

There are three main strands of Doncaster’s Innovation Strategy:

• To create a culture of innovation….
  Firms that do not innovate need to be encouraged onto first step of the innovation ladder.  This will work towards generating a culture of innovation that will drive improved productivity and competitiveness.

• To create the right setting for innovation….
  Providing the infrastructure and the correct environment for businesses to take innovative ideas and make them reality is critical. Businesses that would innovate if they had the appropriate resources or skills will be helped.

• To lead by example....
  Developing flagship innovative projects will allow Doncaster to demonstrate it is an area where innovation flourishes. It will aid marketing of the borough and attract further inward investment. It also creates a ripple effect inspiring other companies and organisations to be equally as innovative and fundamentally competitive.
