What are Work and Enterprise Coaches?

Work and Enterprise Coaches are a team of specialist advisors to help residents of Doncaster find ways to tackle their barriers in accessing employment.

Who can access Work and Enterprise Coaches?

Work and Enterprise Coaches can work with anyone who lives in Doncaster who is unemployed, or who works less than 16 hours a week. 

Where do I meet my Work and Enterprise Coach?

Our Work and Enterprise Coaches are based all around Doncaster Borough and use a variety of community locations.  You can either visit a Work and Enterprise Coach in one of our local offices, a local community centre, library or children’s centre, a community café, or in special circumstances in your own home.  We will always pre arrange the appointment with you and meet at a mutually convenient time and location.

What do I do with my Work and Enterprise Coach?

Your Work and Enterprise Coach will meet with you on an individual basis to identify your needs and draw up an action plan.  We will assist you to identify your strengths and weaknesses to develop a CV, work on job search, application forms and interview techniques with you, source training and volunteer placements, and help with any other issues that may affect your ability to find employment such as childcare, housing or debt issues or family problems.

How long do you help me for?

Work and Enterprise Coaches will meet or discuss your circumstances with you on a fortnightly basis.  This support is tailored to each individual and will continue until you find employment.  They will continue to support you for your first six months in employment to ensure that you have reached your goal.  After 26 weeks with a Work and Enterprise Coach, your circumstances will be reviewed to ensure you are receiving the most appropriate help.
